(black panels) is a diptych composed of panels of acrylic glass tinged with soot. The blackish substance is obtained through the combustion of tires placed beneath the panels, creating a random pattern. The gesture is inspired by the residents of Aleppo in Syria, forced to burn these car parts in order to fill the streets with black smoke and obscure the visibility of warplanes. The piece appropriates a survival tactic and an act of vandalism propelled by the trauma of war.
